About us

A chamber built by volunteers, for Starr County

The RGC Greater Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit, community-driven organization led by volunteers, business professionals and local business owners committed to the economic future of Rio Grande City and Starr County.

Who we are

Our Chamber exists to support and empower small businesses, entrepreneurs and working families by promoting job creation, business education and access to resources, especially within low- and moderate-income communities. We work with local leaders, financial institutions and community partners to create opportunities that help businesses grow and residents thrive.

Through workshops, networking events, financial education programs and business support services, we provide practical tools and guidance to help local businesses succeed and create stable jobs. Our work focuses on economic development, workforce advancement and community revitalization.

As a volunteer-led nonprofit, our leadership and members donate their time, expertise and experience to serve other businesses and improve quality of life in our community. When local businesses succeed, the entire community benefits.

Our mission

To promote economic development and financial stability in Rio Grande City and Starr County by supporting small businesses, encouraging job creation, and expanding access to education and resources for low- and moderate-income individuals.
